Latest FITS center launched in Bohol

Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol - This island municipality, formerly known as Pitogo, was the site of the latest addition to the ever-growing list of Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) centers. The country's 507th center was launched here on May 28. Carlos P. Garcia (CPG) is considered as the 3rd poorest town among the forty-seven municipalities of Bohol. It has a population of 37,421 residing in twenty-three coastal barangays. Mayor Tesalonica Boyboy heads the municipality. He expressed his delight over the establishment of the FITS center, which would cater to the information and technology needs of 475 farmers. |

Siay CeC gears up for eSkwela

To sufficiently prepare for the proper administration of the eSkwela Program at the Siay Community eCenter (CeC), Mr. Linmer D. Perolino and Engr. Romeo T. Ojas, Jr. participated in the conduct of the eSkwela Learning Facilitators Training held last June 15-19, 2009 at the Northern Mindanao Institute of Science and Technology in Butuan City.
The seminar was purposely aimed to gather learning facilitators who would administer eSkwela eModules to students, and prepare them for the overall management and operation of the eSkwela Learning Management System platform. 24 CeC managers successfully complete first tPCA course

The telecentre.org – Philippine Community eCenter (CeC) Academy (tPCA) has culminated the pilot conduct of its first course titled Development Perspectives for CeC managers last June 19, 2009. The said course is part of a series of foundation courses geared towards the professionalization of CeC managers, and specifically aimed to provide the groundwork for a deeper understanding of the CeC and the CeC manager’s strategic role on development. A total of twenty-four CeC managers, coming from various local telecenter initiatives like the National Computer Center's eLGU CeCs, the DOST-PCARRD’s Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers, TelOf CeCs, and eSkwela have successfully completed the said course.
