The Philippine Community eCenter Network (PhilCeCNet), with assistance from the Infrastructure Committee, started the 2009 Infrastructure and Services Inventory Survey (ISIS) last June 23, 2009. The survey aims to reach CeCs nationwide that belong to five of PhilCeCNet's major partners, namely, the Commission on ICT's eSkwela Centers, the National Computer Center's eLGU CeCs, the Department of Transportation and Communication's CeCs, the Telecommunication Offices' CeCs, and the DOST-PCCARD FITS Centers.
The survey aims to gather baseline information as input to a study on the present business models used among the CeCs in the network. The survey covers the following areas regarding the CeCs: location, accessibility, management and staffing structure, available infrastructure, services, content, operations, finances, and plans for sustainability. It is hoped that the results of the survey and the succeeding study shall enable PhilCeCNet members, policymakers and partners to make decisions and enhance their strategies to reach the 2010 vision of the PhilCeCNet Roadmap. A pre-test among thirty PhilCeCNet members was already done last June 7-14, 2009 in preparation for the actual survey. |
