The 2nd eSkwela Conference is slated for March 31 to April 3, 2009 at the Matabungkay Beach Resort in Lian, Batangas.

The four-day conference will bring together individuals and groups instrumental in implementing eSkwela, a flagship project of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology - Human Capital Development Group (CICT-HCDG) which seeks to provide ICT-enhanced educational opportunities for Filipino out-of-school youth and adults.

eSkwela stakeholders include mobile teachers/instructional managers, learners, ALS (Alternative Learning System) Regional eSkwela Coordinators and module guide developers, content developers from partner State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Government Units (LGUs), civic or non-government organizations.

In just two weeks since its announcement to the public on March 10, the PhilCeCNet online community has now reached the one hundred-member mark.

The PhilCeCNet online community, which makes use of the Ning platform, replaced the old Fireboard forum of the Philippine Community eCenter portal. It complements the PhilCeC portal in that it now incorporates such interactive features as groups, forums and member profiles, enabling CeC implementers and stakeholders nationwide to get to know one another, exchange ideas on common issues and interests, and stay connected.

Members can also make use of the RSVP functionality for important events such as the upcoming 5th Knowledge Exchange Conference (KEC) for CeCs. In anticipation of the latter, a discussion was opened to provide members with the opportunity to have their say and make suggestions on the conference sessions, resource persons as well as other logistical matters.
