Turnover of CeC equipment to the CeC of Brgy. Poblacion 2 in Pigcawayan

Relative to the Philippine CeC Program's move towards the barangays, the Pigcawayan Community eCenter (CeC) expanded its reach with the establishment of the barangay Poblacion 2 CeC last month.

The barangay CeC received the CeC equipment package from the Philippine CeC Program last January, duly witnessed by Pigcawayan Mayor Roberto Blase, CeC manager Arnel Ladio and barangay Poblacion officials.

First in the agenda of the newly established barangay CeC is the implementation of the Philippine Digital Literacy for Women Campaign (PDLWC), which the Pigcawayan CeC, along with other program CeCs, also supports.

16 LGUs complete CeC Management Crash Course

Thirty two participants successfully complete their training on CeC Essentials and Digital Literacy The Mindanao group of the Philippine Community eCenter Program successfully conducted a back-to-back crashed-course on Essentials of CeC Management from January 22-24 at the Golden Stallion Suites in Cagayan de Oro City. Thirty two participants from the 16 identified Mindanao LGU beneficiaries attended the 3-day training. The crash course was intended to help participants organize and operate their respective Community eCenters (CeCs). Moreover, it aimed to help managers envision activities and strategies to develop their communities, identify CeC services and develop a one-year action plan.

Malvar CeC opens 2 satellite CeCs

Malvar's newest satellite CeC The Community eCenter of Malvar continues its journey as an ICT hub of opportunity and empowerment for their community. This time, they start 2013 with a bang with the launch of two satellite CeCs. Led by CeC Manager Linda Balbuena, the municipality of Malvar successfully established two additional CeCs on February 1. The first satellite CeC is located in the old municipal building and was established in partnership with a non-government organization. A total of eight desktop computers and two printers was provided by the partner NGO.
