Bohol Farmers goes ICT

Inauguration of CeC Candijay, Bohol with Municipal Mayor Sergio Amora Jr. Four barangays in the province of Bohol received their CeC equipment under the Philippine eBarangay CeC Program last March 11 - 14. The barangays are as follows: Brgy. Poblacion Sur in Batuan, Brgy. Poblacion in Sierra Bullones, Brgy. Poblacion in Alicia and Brgy. Poblacion in Candijay. The computer equipment they received consisted of the following items: four (4) desktop computers, two (2) webcams, one (1) printer and network peripherals. The installation was assisted by Mr. Elmer W. Gomez of the RITC 7. With the support of Provincial Governor Edgar Chatto through his Health, Education, Agriculture and Technology (HEAT) Program, more residents, especially farmers, will be trained to make use of ICT in enhancing their farm produce. Farmers could now engage with farmers from other places and share their best practices in the field of agriculture. The beneficiaries expressed their deep appreciation towards the Information and Communications Technology-National Computer Center for the resources given to their centers. Bringing this technology in their respective barangays will be very helpful to them and can improve the welfare of the people in the community in numerous ways.

Dinagat Islands' Brgy. Justiniana Edera CeC Serves 79 Trainees this Summer

Trainees at eTESDA Center, Dinagat Islands Campus, Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands. Brgy. Justiniana Edera CeC maximized its resources in giving their clientele the Basic Computer Literacy training. This summer, the center opened its doors for Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), mothers, elementary and high school students and their neighbouring barangays. A total of 79 trainees from Brgy. Justiniana Edera and Brgy. Bagumbayan were trained by the center and eTESDA Center, its partner institution. The trainees were divided into 6 groups and were scheduled to meet once a week to accommodate everyone. Last March 21, the center received one (1) set of computer unit from Hon. Gwendolyn B. Ecleo, Municipal Mayor of Dinagat. With this, the center can teach more clients on how to use the computer.

While everyone is getting busy with the upcoming elections, citizens of Dasol, Pangasinan enrolled in the basic computer crash course offered by Dasol's Community eCenter (CeC-eDasol). To date, eDasol had been training enrolees from various sectors. Elementary and high school teachers, out-of-school youth (OSY), senior citizens, church ministers, health care providers, mothers and even overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are just some of the countless beneficiaries of eDasol's 60-hour training course this summer. After the May 13 elections, 16 day-care workers are eagerly anticipating the start of their training which covers introduction to Ms Word, Ms Excel and Multimedia as well as web browsing. It is expected that these programs will help them in preparing and submitting their online reports.
