CDA Online Coop Registration System

The Nueva Vizcaya Community eCenter (NVCEC) and the Provincial Office of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) are jointly undertaking the online registration of all cooperatives in the whole Province of Nueva Vizcaya pursuant to Art. 144 of R.A. No. 9520, otherwise known as “The Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008”, which was signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on 17 February 2009, and implementing Memorandum Circular No. 2009-02, Series of 2009, dated 07 July 2009.

The ongoing new registration process that will end on 22 March 2010 is an operative act of the CDA confirming the juridical personality of all types and categories of CDA-registered and confirmed cooperatives existing prior to 22 March 2009 (except for canceled and dissolved cooperatives) through the issuance of new Certificate of Registration under its seal and in compliance with Art. 144 of R.A. No. 9520.

The joint project aims to help the more than 400 cooperatives that are operating in the province in complying with this new CDA requirement.

Under the partnership, the local office of the CDA provides each registering cooperative its unique Cooperative Identification Number (CIN) that serves as its user code in accessing the CDA Online Coop Registration System .

For its part, the NVCEC gives the cooperatives free access to its Internet-enabled computers. The designated personnel of the cooperatives, especially those who cannot operate the computer, are provided technical assistance by the CeC staff in undertaking the online registration process that ends with the printing of computer-generated documents which they need to submit to the Provincial Officer of the CDA for the issuance of their new Certificate of Registration.

Great! This only goes to show that the possibilities are endless in terms of the services that a CeC can offer and how it can make a difference in the community.
