Declaration of Support signature tarpaulin
The Declaration of Support tarpaulin bearing the signatures of CeC program supporters who attended the 5th KEC

Teamwork is a known competitive advantage. Every member, no matter what they do, should be fully prepared to join and support their networks and organizations.

This advantage was evident during the ceremonial signing of the declaration of support, one of the highlights of the 5th Knowledge Exchange Conference on Community eCenters. The declaration affirmed the Philippine Community eCenter Network (PhilCeCNet) members’ support for:

  • Rationale initiatives on universal access and digital inclusion
  • Sealing up and sustainability of CeCs as tool for enhancing access and participation of communities in development
  • Capacitating the CeC knowledge workers in the fulfiment of this mission

The major players in the Community eCenter movement in the country, Commission on ICT (CICT) Chair, Sec. Ray Anthony Roxas-Chua III, together with CICT Commissioner for eGovernment Development and National Computer Center (NCC) Director General Angelo Timoteo M. Diaz de Rivera, and Philippine CeC Program Head and NCC Director for Field Operations Maria Teresa M. Camba, led the community in the signing of the declaration of support. With the same enthusiasm, the mayors, CeC managers, stakeholders and other multi-sectoral partners of PhilCeCNet followed suit.

As we mutually bind ourselves to sustain this declaration, let us all consider ourselves as a major player in the realization of sustaining our responsive, efficient, and valuable CeCs. Our full support as partners in one team will fast-track the sustainable development path for Philippine CeCs.

Our full commitment to this declaration and in the pursuit of our vision, mission and goals will remain a big challenge for us to affirm.
