With the aim of recognizing the exemplary performances of Community eCenters (CeCs) and CeC knowledge workers in the country, the Commission on ICT (CICT), through the Philippine CeC Project Management Office (PhilCeC PMO), proudly announces the conduct of the 1st Philippine CeC Excellence Awards.

Aside from giving beneficiaries recognition for their efforts, the awards also seek to encourage the active participation of CeCs in sharing their stories on innovations and best practices, increase awareness on CeCs in areas without any CeC facility or access to ICT, and encourage CeCs and CeC knowledge workers to raise the level of their performance.

The search is open to all CeC initiatives (e.g. eSkwela, Farmers Information and Technology Services or FITS, Tulay, etc) and CeC knowledge workers currently active in the Philippines. Submission of nominations will run from October 15, 2009 to January 31, 2010.

For each category (CeC Category and CeC Knowledge Worker Category), four finalists and one grand winner will be selected by the panel of judges who will be appointed by the PhilCeC PMO.
