The year 2009 saw the mainstream adoption of social media, defined by Wikipedia as media that “uses Internet and web-based technologies”. Social networks have gained overwhelming popularity especially over the past year that even large multinational companies like Microsoft and Intel are now employing social media to get their messages across to audiences in social networks.
